In the past two years, another 30,000 refugees have come to Israel from Ukraine, mainly women and their children who fled following the Russian invasion of their country on February 24, 2022. Other Ukrainians had come to Israel for various reasons before the Russian invasion and stayed. Overall, about 60,000 refugees have been living in Israel without the rights, recognition, and basic social services that every Israeli citizen is granted from birth.
