ASSAF's work could not be done without our dedicated team of volunteers. The professional staff provides training, accompaniment and guidance before and during volunteer activity in each of the projects. We require commitment to refugee issues dedication, motivation and responsibility from all of our volunteers.

Are you moved by the issues facing asylum seekers and refugees in Israel? Would you like to know what ASSAF does? Would you like to help and make a difference? If so, please contact our Volunteering Coordinator at [email protected]

Volunteering opportunities

Advocacy and Support Center: Volunteers for office opening hours in the center, held on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons. The volunteers receive walk ins from the community who arrive to the center during office opening hours. Volunteers sit with the asylum seekers, provide them with relevant information, guidance in actualizing their rights, referring them to partner organizations for additional aid, mediating the Israeli society, and more. Volunteering takes place on EITHER Sundays or Tuesdays, between 15:30 to 20:30, and also includes attendance in training sessions held every 4-6 weeks. Volunteers must be above the age of 24 and are expected to commit for a minimum of a full year.

Resource Development: If you are interested in getting a behind the scenes look at a human rights nonprofit and maybe resource development specifically, but may only have a limited time to offer or need flexible hours, have a good heart, a good head on your shoulders and good English, this volunteer opportunity can be done from our office in Tel Aviv, from home (or even from abroad). Inquisitive people are needed for researching and collecting information on potential sources of funding online.

Professional aid:

- Proffesional Therapists for individual weekly therapy. Volunteers are expected to commit for a minimum of a full year, or according to the patients' needs.

Translators from Hebrew to English, Arabic, and Tigrinya are vital for the ASSAF's ongoing activities.

Graphic designers, photographers (both video and stills), and directors for media and advocacy work.

Linguistic editors for publications and media.
