ASSAF – Aid Organization for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Israel, is seeking a Director of Resource Development.


ASSAF is the leading human rights organization supporting refugees in Israel. The organization provides psycho-social aid and support to refugees and asylum-seekers, raises public awareness to their plight and advocates for their rights with government and municipal authorities.

Position description

  • Develop and execute the organization’s fundraising strategy, promote systematic development of the organization and find resources to maintain sustainable growth.
  • Nurture and strengthen liaison with existing funders, supporters and partners.
  • Identify, initiate and develop new relationships with potential donors and partner organizations, including foundations, NGOs and international organizations.
  • Collaborate with ASSAF's staff to create, develop and monitor projects in line with ASSAF's mission statement.
  • Manage the preparation of project funding applications and draft grant requests to foundations, large private donors, and partners.
  • Provide data analysis and evaluations related to projects and reports.
  • Monitor project progress and fiscal implementation.
  • Write financial and substantive reports to partners.
  • The Director of Resource Development reports directly to the Executive Director and is a member of the organization’s management.

Skills, training, and credentials

  • Commitment to human rights and ASSAF's goals and mission.
  • At least three years' experience in Resource Development.
  • Native or near native English speaker; good standard of spoken and written Hebrew.
  • Working knowledge of Excel.
  • Strategic thinker with proven experience in developing and executing a successful fundraising strategy.
  • Excellent drafting skills and persuasive writing style in English.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce (advantage) and basic data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, networking and problem-solving skills and the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people and organizations.


  • Offices based in south Tel Aviv, some remote work possible.
